During our two visits back to Sri Lanka this year we have tired to ‘spread a little happiness’
We have tried to keep a list but I am sure that we will have forgotten something.

Anuladevi Balkia Vidyalava School in Galle
They lost over two hundred of their friends. School computer repairs and Internet access fees paid for a year so twinning with Llandogo Primary School can be established. High jump mattress. Digital camera. 2 fans. Ironing board. Microwave oven. Blenders, Pressure cooker Electric kettle Guitar, Amplifier microphones and amplifier. Drama face paint. Digital camera

200 postcards and a new washing up bowl for the beach postcard seller. He now just needs more customers
Food parcels for 70 families (over 300 people) containing 2 kilos of fresh vegetables, tea, sugar packets of dried milk, a coconut and biscuits. This food run will be carried out monthly for the next 7 months. April – October.
Refurbishing two schoolrooms in Unawatuna Primary School. Including ceiling fans and lights.
Refurbishing the house of an old lady who lives on own. Her house was flooded to the ceiling. New radio so she can listen to the news.
Three bicycles
Dissanayaka School for Children with Special Needs
New callipers for three schoolteachers who had suffered from polio. This involved five full days in Colombo for fitting and further treatment as each person was in such a bad way.
30 embroidery sets, sewing needles, open weave cotton, paper stencils and pattern paper. 50m Cotton poplin for skirts.
Outstanding utility bills paid and money placed on credit so they do not have to worry for a year.
New security doors for Asha and the Honey man’s shop. The shop had been repaired but they could not afford the large doors that close the front of the shop.

35 musicals instruments for Unawatuna School.
Kitchen equipment for a number of people’s homes, including blenders, colanders, coconut grater
The spectacles that we collected (approximately 1000 pairs) where given to the Rotary Club of Galle for distribution
Foundations for Saratha and his family’s house. The structure was built with other donations and we have sorted out the window fixings and glass. Hopefully they will be in their new house by Christmas
Shovels, wheelbarrows and small tools to help with the re construction
3 electric sewing machines, cutting scissors, pinking shears, cottons, sari materials– now supplying income for 3 families
