Unawatuna before the Tsunami

Then the sea came....

...the sea is coming....

Before the Tsunami of Boxing Day 2004 the fishing village of Unawatuna was full of life and happiness with a warm people.

Tourism was important to the local economy with many making their living from the people who came to the area to enjoy this small piece of paradise.
