Tom

Tom came to collect us on the morning that the tsunami struck. He arrived at our hotel less than two minutes before the water came. His tuk tuk was swamped, the engine badly damaged and will probably need replacing. His main income was from his tuk tuk providing transportation for tourists. Not only has he suffered due to the damage to his vehicle, but also to the severe reduction in tourist trade. I dread to think how much his income has been reduced by.

Tom’s daughter has just taken her equivalent of A levels. She hopes to get the grades to enable her to go to university to study drama and music. On completion of this course she wants to be a teacher. His son has just taken the equivalent of GCSE's and wants to be a Doctor.

If we can help Tom and his wife they will be able to provide for their children’s education.

The happy family Welcome party
